About Me
Hello, I'm Yeshe...
I'm a state-licensed clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. I specialize in person-centered and experiential psychotherapy and in essential psychotherapy, an innovative approach integrating the methods from contemplative wisdom traditions into western psychology. I work in private practice in Brussels, near the European institutions.
Passionate about understanding the wisdom inherent in our emotions, I focus on exploring and understanding feelings, recognizing their potential to enrich our lives and guide us towards what truly matters for us. Experiential approaches like focusing (body awareness work), mindfulness (finding calm amidst chaos), and compassion-based methods (inner child work, inner family systems) particularly inspire my practice.
Perfectly fluent in German, French, and English, I offer my services in these three languages. I work with adults, couples and adolescents.
The areas in our lives in which we experience most challenges often also hold the greatest potential for personal growth. It is as if the resistances we feel also provide the necessary traction for us to move forward.
In psychotherapy, we are therefore invited to explore those parts of ourselves that we ordinarily want to avoid because they seem too painful to bear or just plainly unacceptable. By holding these parts in gentle awareness, we can slowly start to befriend them and open ourselves to the messages they have been carrying. We may discover a grain of wisdom inherent in even the most painful experiences. As we come to understand our unconscious patterns more fully, their grip on our lives loosens. With greater awareness, we gain more freedom to make the choices that truly align with who we are and how we want to lead our lives. We begin to feel more integrated and whole. In this process, new and sometimes unexpected meaning can emerge.
Yet, just as cleaning a cut burns, the process of therapy is not always smooth sailing either. Tending to our inner wounds also implies attending to the pain they carry. In therapy, we do not have to do this on our own, however. We can rely on the help of another person who trusts in our capacities even when we feel hopeless. This help may come in the form of a holding and non-judgmental presence, allowing us to explore ourselves at our own pace. At other times, we might be gently guided to experience our feelings more fully and in new ways or to question the views and beliefs that shape how we approach life and others. In the case of more severe trauma, therapy may also include the use of trauma-specific methods to reprocess painful memories and release tension in the nervous system.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in psychological and educational sciences from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and a Master’s degree in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL).

My interest in psychology began when I was a teenager in search for greater depth and meaning in life. I would avidly read Herman Hesse, amazed by the process of psychological maturation his main characters would go through. At the same time, I was deeply moved by the blatant suffering in the world and briefly considered becoming a war-photographer. Surrounding myself with pictures of atrocities left me feeling very depressed and helpless however and I quickly realized that I'm much too soft-hearted for such a brave endeavor. I eventually decided to study clinical psychology instead and to contribute to a healthier society from the inside out.
At the age of 20, I experienced a much needed existential crisis after a period of confusion during which I had sought meaning in mind-altering substances. Through a very meaningful encounter, I discovered the practice of mindfulness meditation. Ever since, cultivating awareness through meditation has become a personal path of inner transformation. My interest in the benefits of meditation inspired me to work as a researcher in contemplative neuroscience for a few years after I graduated from university. Just before entering a Phd program, I took a sabbatical to travel to India and Nepal and to engage in a series of more intensive meditation retreats. My experiences during these retreats eventually led to the decision to quit a promising career in academia and to reconnect with my initial motivation for studying psychology - helping others in their own process of finding greater meaning and fulfillment in life.
Since, I have acquired experience in different fields related to clinical psychology and I have trained extensively in various psychotherapeutic modalities. Some of my previous job experience include managing projects aiming at improving mental health care for neurodiverse communities, clinical psychology and psychotherapy in public mental health centers, and coordinating a very lively multilingual therapy center in Brussels. In 2026, I finally decided to start my own private practice in Brussels.
Today, I live in the south of Brussels together with my partner and our cat. I am a lover of jazz and world music and in my free time, you would probably find me listening to records, immersed in a book, or cooking. During my travels, I fell in love with Indian culture (and food!) and try to return from time to time.
